Gardaí have seized a firearm and arrested two men following an operation in west Dublin.

It followed an intelligence-led operation and a planned search of a house in the Woodavens area of Clondalkin on Tuesday afternoon.

During the search, gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau recovered a suspected handgun.

The two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested.

They are being held at west Dublin Garda Stations under the Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
