Two men have been arrested after an armed robbery in north Dublin.

It happened at around 7:45am this morning, when two men armed with a firearm entered at shop on Stiles Road in Clontarf.

They threatened a female staff member before leaving the scene on foot with an amount of cash.

The front door of the shop was damaged during the incident, but no shots were fired.

During a follow up operation, two men aged in their 20s were arrested in a nearby building.

A firearm and cash were also recovered.

The men are being held under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
