Two people have been arrested after cannabis herb worth €100,000 was found in Limerick.

The drugs were discovered when gardaí attached to the District Drug Unit stopped a car at Davin Gardens in Caherdavin last night.

A man (54) and a woman (40) were arrested and brought to Mayorstone and Roxboro garda stations for questioning.

They are being held under section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí say this was part of an ongoing operation.
