Today

Patchy rain will spread eastwards across the country this morning.

The rain will clear into the Irish Sea around lunchtime, leaving the remainder of the day largely dry with good spells of sunshine.

A fresher day with maximum temperatures of 14 to 18 or 19 degrees - coolest along west and northwest coasts, with best values in the southeast.

Winds will be blustery for a time in northern areas but will ease later in the day.

Tonight

Mostly dry overnight with a mix of cloud and clear spells.

Areas of mist and fog may affect some southern and eastern coastal fringes later.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in light, variable breezes.
