Tributes are being paid to a 15-year-old girl killed in a two-car collision in Co Tipperary.

Leah O'Meara from Thurles died when the car she was a passenger in collided with another car on the R503 at Rearcross at around 6.45pm yesterday evening.

Three others in the car  - a teenage girl, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 20s - were taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.

A woman who was driving the other car was also taken to hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with camera footage including dashcam from the area at the time is asked to provide it to Gardaí.

Leah's sister Katie has paid tribute to her 'beautiful sister' on social media.

"I love you so much unconditionally babygirl," she wrote on Facebook.

"I still just can’t believe this is after happening to me - what am I meant to do now, how can I move forward without you."

Katie described Leah as her "whole world and more".
