Figures from the literary world have been paying tribute to British author Louise Rennison, who wrote the book Angus, Thongs And Full-Frontal Snogging.
Publisher Harper Collins confirmed the death of "our much loved author and friend".
Angus, Thongs..., which was written for teenagers, was made into a film in 2008 starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
It was part of the ten-book Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series.
Louise, who was in her 60s, was also a performance artist and comedian, having won awards for her one-woman show Stevie Wonder Felt my Face in the 1980s.
Author Philip Pullman tweeted he was "shocked and saddened" by the death of Ms Rennison.
