David Mahon's trial has heard there were photos of his missing stepdaughter on the floor of his apartment on the night he allegedly murdered her brother.
The 46-year-old is accused of stabbing Dean Fitzpatrick after confronting him about stealing a water bottle from his bike.
The jurors were sent out for an early lunch after Audrey Fitzpatrick stormed out of the courtroom during the evidence of one of the State's key witnesses.
Her husband's friend Karl O'Toole said he called over to Dave's apartment at Northern Cross in Malahide, north Dublin on the night of May 25th 2013 - after he told him he had broken up with Audrey.
He said his friend was drunk and seemed agitated.
Inside the apartment, he noticed pictures of Dave's stepdaughter Amy and his mother.
Amy has not been seen since she went missing in Spain in 2008 - four years after they moved over there. He thought that was strange.
Earlier, Dean's girlfriend Sarah O'Rourke said she received a threatening call from the accused, who was trying to get a hold of the 23-year-old.
It is the State's case that Mr Mahon stabbed him to death after he admitted interfering with his bike outside a gym.
The 46-year-old denies the charge.
