Concerts are due to take place in Marlay Park in Rathfarnham over the next few  days and if you’re travelling there here is some useful information to get you there.

/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Travelling to the Concert by Bus

Shuttle Bus:

Marathon Coaches will run a shuttle return service from the City Centre (Georges Quay) to the concert site (drop-off and collection in the car-park off College Road).  All Marathon Coach drop-off and pick-up points will be in the car park accessed via College Road.  (See Marathon Coaches website for additional information; href="http://www.bushiredublin.net/">www.bushiredublin.net)

Marlay Park (Grange Road) is served by the following Dublin Bus routes:

”¢Â Route 16 – Airport/O’Connell street to Grange Road
/> ”¢Â Route 116 – Burlington Road to Grange Road
/> ”¢Â Route 161 – Dundrum Road Luas to Grange Road
/> Ballinteer Shopping Centre (10 min walk from Marlay Park) is served by the following Dublin Bus routes:

”¢Â Route 75 ”“ The Square Tallaght/ Dun Laoghaire to Ballinteer Shopping Centre
/> ”¢Â Route 14 ”“ Beaumont via Amiens Street to Ballinteer Shopping Centre.

/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Private Hire Coach:

Private Hire Coaches will be permitted to use the Bus lanes on the Grange Road (on both sides of the roadway) to drop off passengers prior to each concert.  These coaches will then be required to depart this area.  However, they will be permitted to park in the same Bus lanes on Grange Road before the end of each Concert.  Private Hire Coaches must be in position at 10.00pm (one hour before end of concert) and wait for passengers.  Only private Hire Coaches will be allowed to park and collect passengers here.

Persons travelling by Private Coach should agree with the coach driver where he/she will collect them after the Concert and if possible exchange mobile phone contact numbers with the Coach driver also.
/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Travelling to the concert by car:

Recommended approach route for concert goers travelling by private car:

*    from Dublin city centre via Ranelagh, Clonskeagh, Goatstown, Sandyford, Grange Road and then onto College Road for car-parks.
/> *    from the M50,
/> o Option 1 – exit M50 at Junction 12 Interchange, signposted R823, Ballyboden.  Follow Scholarstown Road, Taylor’s Lane, turn right onto Whitechurch Road and then left onto College Road.  Entrance to car-parks is off College Road.

o Option 2 ”“ exit M50 at Junction 13 Interchange (Dundrum).  Follow Brehonfield Road  – R133, direction Rathfarnham.  Turn left at Naomh Eoin GAA Club onto R822 (signposted Tigknock).  Turn right at traffic lights (at Taylor’s Tree Rock Pub) onto College Road ”“ R113.  Entrance to car-parks is off College Road.
/> Car Parks
/> There will be supervised car-parking within Marlay Park and accessed via the College Road.  All private vehicle parking will be in this parking facility at the concert site.  Parking for those attending the concert is free.  Cars Parks open 2  hours before Gates open each day -t 3pm on August 23rd,  2pm on August 24th and  – 1.30pm on August 25th. The car parks can facilitate 700 cars .
/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Car Parking for people with Special Needs/Disabilities:

Parking facilities for the disabled are only available off the College Road car park.  Parking attendants will be in a position to direct and assist persons to these parking facilities.  Persons with specific needs should contact Ticketmaster on their Special Needs Hotlines 0818 715627 (Republic of Ireland) +353 1 648 6060 (International) Service Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Parking will only be available from 2pm Car Parks open two hours before Gates open..
/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Departure Routes after the Concert:

Patrons leaving from the College Road car-parks after the concert may either be directed to:

+   Turn right onto College Road and travel down Whitechurch Road and then left onto Ballyboden / Scholarstown Road and towards M50 at Junction 12 (with access North and South onto M50 at Junction 12).

+   Turn left onto College Road and travel towards the Grange Road/Haroldsgrange Road junction and then right towards Dundrum and M50 Interchange at Junct. 13.
/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Access Controlled Areas:

Residents of the estates in the vicinity of Marlay Park will be issued with resident permits by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.  Gardai/MCD Stewards will be positioned at the entrances to local housing estates and only persons with official residents Parking Permits will be allowed enter these estates.

Vehicles parked illegally and/or vehicles parked in estates without a valid resident permit will be liable to removal and a towing fee will apply in such cases.
/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Anticipated Traffic Congestion:

As two of the 2012 concerts take place on weekdays, normal peak time traffic may be expected on the M50 and major traffic arteries between 16.00hrs and 18.30hrs approx.  In this regard, those travelling to the Concert should travel early and allow plenty of time to arrive in good time.

Gardai will perform point duty where necessary at the key junctions near the concert site and the co-operation of motorists and pedestrians would be much appreciated.
/> style="text-decoration: underline;">Temporary Road Closures:

All Concerts are due to finish at 23.00hrs.  In the event of a large number of pedestrians exiting the Concert site at the end of the Concert, vehicle traffic entering the area may be restricted and/or roads in the immediate vicinity of Marlay Park may be closed temporarily.  Such restrictions/closures will be in the interests of public safety and to facilitate the safe dispersal of pedestrians.
