A trade union campaign to repeal the 8th amendment has got underway in Dublin.
The 8th amendment of the Constitution introduced a Constitutional ban on abortion in 1983, following a divisive referendum.
Trade unionists from Unite, the Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI), the Union of Students in Ireland (USI), the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) and the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) are meeting to discuss the campaign.
They have described the 8th amendment as "anti-democratic, anti-woman and bad law."
Una Dunphy is a TUI member in Waterford.
She said they will be lobbying all trade unions to get on board with the campaign.
