A 15 year old boy has been released on bail after being charged with the false imprisonment of a man in Co. Limerick.

/> Stephen Cusack – who’s family owns a post office – was abducted by an armed gang from a house in Castletroy on Sunday night in a Tiger kidnapping attempt.

He managed to escape unharmed.

The 15 year old youth charged at Limerick Children’s Court today is due to appear in court again in October.

Reporter David Raleigh says bail had been opposed.


/> Gardai are carrying out door-to-door enquiries at the scene of last night’s fatal stabbing in Mulhuddart, Co. Dublin.

/> The 28-year-old victim, named locally as Gerard Burnett, was attacked outside his girlfriend’s house at Castlecurragh Vale at around midnight.

Gardai are hunting for three suspects who ran from the scene in the direction of the Drumheath estate.

Friends of the dead man arrived this afternoon to lay flowers, and speaking to 98FM, this man, who asked not to be named, paid tribute to the father-of-one:

Taxis at Dublin Airport have suspended services over a dispute with the Dublin Airport Authority.

/> Drivers who hold permits to pick up passengers have stopped operating this afternoon – claiming that part of the taxi rank they use has been withdrawn.

The DAA says its currently amending a temporary overflow area for the taxis – which it says will have the same number of spaces as in 2010 – despite a fall over 300 in the number of permit holders.
