It follows the publication of a review into his killing showing that British government agents facilitated his murder.

The British Prime Minister David Cameron, and the PSNI Chief Constable have both apologised to the Finucane family.

However his widow Geraldine says the report into her husband's killing is a sham.

ICTU's endorsed a proposal to hold a series of 'major demonstrations' next February, to demand a restructuring of Ireland's debt.

Congress says demonstrations will be held on February 9 in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Sligo, Limerick and Waterford.

They're being timed to coincide with EU Council of Ministers’ meetings being held here, under our Presidency of the EU in 2013.

ICTU says they want to highlight the transfer of debt from banks, to the Irish people.

General Secretary of ICTU, David Begg, says the debt is unsustainable, and we can't keep trying to cut our way out of the recession.

An armed gang stole a "substantial" sum of cash after holding the manager of a Dublin toy superstore at gunpoint. 

The man was approached by the gang outside his home in Lucan last night and forced to return to the outlet where he worked at the Fonthill retail park in Clondalkin. 

Some of the gang remained outside the man's home and threatened to hurt his family if he didn't help them. 

Evening Herald reporter Alan O'Keefe says the man wasn't hurt but was left extremely shaken. 

A total of 589 people have now come forward with information relating to the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal with 450 complaints against the late star.

The Metropolitan Police say the majority of alleged victims are women and children.

Since Police launched it's inquiry ten weeks ago - there has been a huge increase in the number of historic rapes reported.

A couple from Essex are celebrating an extra special birth today.

Their son Oliver Talmage was born at 12 minutes past 12.

It means his full date and time of birth will read 12 minutes past 12 on the 12th of the 12th, 2012.

Many people consider the date to be lucky with registery offices across the country have reported a surge in wedding bookings.
