WATCH: Video footage of the escaped Dublin Minion emerges

Chances are you’re familiar with the now global story of an inflatable Minion running wild and free in north Dublin yesterday morning.

Well now we’ve got some video footage of the incident, showing the giant inflatable bouncing down the road in Santry, Dublin 9, sending pedestrians running (though not quite fleeing) and rolling over cars.

Hunter in Zimbabwe court over the death of Cecil the lion

A professional hunter is due to stand trial in Zimbabwe today accused of failing to prevent Walter Palmer's unlawful killing of Cecil the lion.

Theo Bronkhorst allegedly lured the 13-year-old lion away from the safety of Hwange National Park with an animal carcass.

Mr Palmer, a dentist from Minnesota, then shot the pride leader with a high-powered bow and arrow.

Last month Airbus had an ambitious-looking patent approved by the US authorities for an "ultra-rapid air vehicle and related method of aerial locomotion."

The company will be hoping that someday this hypersonic jet will be a viable travel option which will be able to climb to speeds of Mach 4.5 - that's four and a half times the speed of sound.

A father of four who has been playing the same lotto numbers all his life has collected a cheque for €6.3m at National Lottery Headquarters.

Gerry Murphy, from Ballinrobe in Co Mayo, scooped the jackpot in Saturday night's draw.

He bought his €6 winning ticket in Murphy's Newsagency, run by his his brother-in-law, in the town.
