Hospital crisis
The Minister for Health is expected to be back at his desk on Wednesday and likely to issue a statement on Emergency Department overcrowding.
Leo Varadkar’s absence has been heavily criticised by opposition politicians, with Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams saying he was ‘AWOL’ as the hospital bed crisis reached record levels and one major hospital cancelled all planned surgeries in a bid to deal with the issue.
Property Tax
Wednesday is the deadline for registration for the 2015 payment of the Property Tax.
The Revenue Commissioners have said they might not penalise everyone who does not pay by the deadline, but they want people to contact them at least. You can read our handy guide to the Property tax payment system here.
BT Young Scientist
Wednesday morning sees the opening the BT Young Scientist exhibition, with 1,200 students and 550 projects vying for hours at the 51st installment.
Tomorrow the Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport, Michael Ring will attend the exhibit at the RDS.
The event is open to the public from Thursday to Saturday.
Tickets are available at the door costing €6 for students, €12 for adults and €25 for a family pass.
