Water charge protest fallout

Today saw another mass protest against water charges. Tomorrow will see the reaction and fallout. Will the government shift or will they stick with the recent reforms to the Irish Water system?

Marie Farrell continues her evidence tomorrow. Today she said gardai threatened her to prevent her withdrawing statmenets putting Ian Bailey at Keallfada bridge.

Credit Unions

Challenges facing Ireland's 139 credit unions are being discussed by representatives from the Central Bank, the Department of Finance and the Credit Union Restructuring Board on Thursday. They appear before the Public Accounts Committee in the morning.

The Minister for Finance has set aside €250m for the Credit Union Fund.

However, only a small amount has been drawn down to help with restructuring, amalgamations and other measures to support their long term viability.
