Three men who were remanded in custody in relation to the assault of a taxi driver and theft of his vehicle have been released without charge.
The driver, who's originally from Pakistan, had to be treated in hospital for non life threatening injuries.
He was attacked after he picked up a fare on the N4 near Palmerstown at around 4 o'clock yesterday morning.
He was threatened with a knife and forced to drive to Tubber Lane in Lucan where he was asssaulted and his taxi was stolen.
The vehicle was later found burnt out.
Files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions on the men arrested.
