Three men have appeared in court, charged in connection with a 1.5 million euro drug seizure in Cork yesterday afternoon.

The discovery was made when Gardai stopped and searched a car on the Boreenamanna Road – and carried out a follow up search at a nearby house.

59 year old Jerome O’Halloran from St Joseph’s, Boreenmanna Road, in Cork; 46 year old Trevor  Williamson from Meadowbrook, Heron’s Wood in Carrigaline and 53 year old Michael O’Connell from O’Malley Park in Southhill, Limerick were all charged with possession and possession for sale or supply of cannabis resin, at a special sitting of Cork District Court this evening.

O’Halloran and Williamson were released on bail – to appear again at Cork District Court on October 3rd.

While O’Connell did not apply for bail and has been remanded in custody to appear in court again on October 4th.
