Two men are still being held by Gardai in Dublin after a high-speed chase on the M1 in Dublin yesterday evening.

At the time gardai were pursuing a car they believed to have been involved in criminal activity in the North.

It is understood three Garda vehicles were damaged in the incident which caused the the motorway to be closed southbound for a time.

Three men were arrested at the scene. One was released late last night while two others remain in custody at Ballymun garda station.
