Three men have been arrested on suspicion of trying to blackmail a woman over images she uploaded to the OnlyFans website.
Gardaí said they were arrested in the Clonsilla area of Dublin on Tuesday.
OnlyFans allows users to charge subscribers a monthly fee for access to exclusive images and videos.
The site is largely used for intimate or sexual images and has undergone a dramatic rise in popularity in recent years.
A Garda spokesman said the three men were arrested “as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged blackmail/extortion attempt.”
Two of the men, one in his late teens and one in his 20s, have since been charged and were due to appear before the Dublin District Court this evening.
The third man, aged in his 30s, remains in custody at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
The Garda investigation is ongoing.
