Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Polish father-of-two in County Cork last year.
35-year-old Mikolaj Wilk died after a number of men armed with machetes attacked him at his home in Ballincollig on June 10th 2018.
His wife, who is in her early 30s, was also at home during the attack and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries in hospital.
The couple’s two young children and another woman in her early 30s were also in the house. They were not injured.
The attackers fled the scene, and a car was later found burnt out several kilometres away in Waterfall.
Gardaí also recovered a gun as part of the investigation.
The three men, all in their 30s, were arrested this morning after investigators carried out a number of searches in the Ballincollig area.
They are detained at the Gurranabraher and Bridewell Garda Stations.
An inquest into Mr Wilk’s death was adjourned last year after Gardaí said their murder investigation was ongoing.
