The first A Nightmare on Elm Street movie came out in 1984, and proved to be a smash hit that inspired a huge number of sequels, the most recent of which was back in 2010 when Michael Bay got involved in a version of the movie that was not very much loved by fans or critics. 

While that attempt at a reboot failed, it hasn't stopped the folks at New Line Cinema deciding that there's need for yet another of the movies to breathe some new life into the franchise, at least according to a rumour that comes courtesy of The Tracking Board. 

Given that it's a rumour, the details are pretty hard to come by, but you can expect that Freddie Krueger will still be around killing teens fin their dreams, but none of the cast of the 2010 movie will return for this reboot of the reboot. 

One of the seemingly confirmed details is that David Leslie Johnson, who wrote Orphans, is supposed to be on board to pen the script for the movie, but it's unlikely to be hitting screens for quite a while yet.
