French records suggest W.B Yeats coffin sent to Ireland after poet’s death held others’ bones
The remains of the poet who died in 1939 were believed to have been flown home from France almost ten years after his death.
But the Irish Times has reported on Saturday that the man responsible for locating Yeats remains believed the job was impossible and it's not known what was sent home in his place.
Woman dies in Wexford car collision
A woman in her 70s has been killed in a car crash in Co. Wexford.
The crash occurred at at Knockmore in Enniscorthy at around 10am today.
The woman, the sole only occupant of the car, was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with a ditch.
Greek banks to re-open on Monday
The Greek government has ordered banks to re-open on Monday after being closed for three weeks.
They were shut to prevent a flood of withdrawals which could have triggered the collapse of the country's financial system.
Independent support at highest since 2011, according to new poll
Support for independent candidates has reached its highest level since 2011, according to the latest opinion poll.
The poll in tomorrow’s Sunday Times shows independents - and potentially the newer parties - making gains at the expense of their larger rivals.
The poll for the Sunday Times carried out by Behaviour & Attitudes was taken between July 4 and 14 - so it doesn’t include the Social Democrats.
Kerry crowned Munster football champions
It took two matches, 140 minutes and five decisive points to separate these two sides as Kerry were crowned Munster football champions on Saturday evening in Fitzgerald Stadium.
The sides couldn't be separated in the first encounter two weeks ago, Kerry 2-15 to Cork's 3-12 the result after the final whistle.
