Europe divided as Austria to resume border limits

The mass transportation of refugees to Germany is set to stop after Austria said it would phase out emergency measures designed to help those stranded in Hungary.

Austria said the decision, a day after the measures were introduced, followed "intensive talks" with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Stormont to resume amid crisis over status of IRA

The Northern Ireland Assembly will resume this morning amid a crisis over the status of the IRA.

First Minister Peter Robinson has said it can't be 'business as usual' until it deals with the PSNI assessment that the IRA still exists and that some of its members were involved in the killing of republican Kevin McGuigan.

Gardaí questioning teenager in connection with number of incidents in Galway

A teenager is being questioned by Gardai in Galway, in connection with a number of incidents in the city at the weekend.

An 18-year-old man suffered stab wounds and another was threatened with a knife on the Headford road on Sunday morning.

Two other men in their 20s had their wallets and mobile phones stolen.

Man to appear in court in connection with Dublin armed robbery

A man in his 40's will appear in court this morning in connection with an armed robbery in Dublin at the weekend.

Two raiders, armed with a chainsaw, made off with a substantial amount of cash from a fast food outlet in Tallaght during the incident.

At about 20 minutes past midnight on Sunday morning staff at a takeaway in the Old Bawn Shopping centre in Tallaght were threatened by two men armed with a live chainsaw.
