Donald Trump has agreed to a sit-down interview with Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

The US presidential candidate will be a guest on Megyn Kelly Presents, a prime-time special due to air Fox TV on May 17.

This will be the first televised interview between the two since a presidential debate on the Fox News Channel in August 2015.

Following that debate, Trump remarked that he had been targeted by Kelly and she had "blood coming out of her wherever" during their exchanges.

Last month Trump also recommended that "everybody" boycott the Fox News presenter's programme.

The interview will take place in New York, and will explore how events unfolded with Trump after the August debate, and his successful campaign for the White House to date.

Kelly says she is looking forward to the "fascinating exchange".

It's not all good news for Trump though, as two of his rivals announced they are joining together to try and stop his charge towards the Republican U.S. presidential nomination.

Ted Cruz and John Kasich say they are now co-ordinating their operations in future primary contests.

In statements released on Sunday night, Cruz stated he will focus his resources on winning in Indiana, while Kasich will concentrate on New Mexico and Oregon.

Mr Trump described the alliance is "weak" and "pathetic".
