Gardaí seek car doing 87.9mph, with tax 30 years out of date
As the world marks Back to the Future Day, it seems the gardaí are no exception.
Today is the day that Marty McFly went back to the future with Doc Brown in 1985.
He left in a DeLorean, hit 88mph and found himself in 2015 - October 21st, to be precise.
The lead up to the day, and the day itself, have been marked by millions of people - not least of all Dr Emmet 'Doc' Brown.
But even An Garda Síochana have switched on their flux capacitor - and tweeted this time-traveling marvel.
‘Rotund man on small bike’ to pay €250 to poor-box over ‘drive-by’ insult of Garda
A “slightly rotund” man has been found guilty of a “drive-by” insult of a garda and ordered to pay €250 to the poor-box.
The Irish Examiner reports that there was an outburst of laughter at Kilrush District Court, when the solicitor for 25-year old Flannan Burke said his client verbally abused Garda Gerard Griffin, after taking offence at being seen as: "A big man on a small bike".
Solicitor Pat Moylan said in evidence that he believed offence was intended because Burke is “slightly rotund” and was cycling on a child's BMX bike.
After 52 years of conspiracy theories, controversial image of JFK shooter proven to be the real deal
One of the most enduring conspiracy theories in the assassination of JFK may well, at last, have been finally put to rest, after a photograph of shooter Lee Harvey Oswald holding the type of rifle used to kill the president has been confirmed as authentic.
In the decades since President Kennedy was shot while travelling in a motorcade through the streets of Dallas on November 22nd, 1963, multiple theories have claimed that the photo was a fake, and was used to draw attention away from the possibility of a second shooter.

Remaining One Direction concerts in Belfast to go ahead
One Direction's remaining concerts in Belfast are to go ahead, after a last minute cancellation of last night's event.
Tuesday's concert has been rescheduled for Friday night, and all tickets from last night's postponed concert will be valid for that.
Aiken Promotions has this afternoon issued a statement to say that the two scheduled concerts remaining will go ahead as planned at the SSE Arena, with the third event rescheduled for the end of the week.
Organisers have once again apologised for the cancellation of last night's show, blaming Liam Payne's ill health.
