A teenager, wanted in the UK in connection with a number of serious crimes, has been detained in the North.
Gardaí had been appealing for information on the whereabouts of Ryan Humpage, as he had travelled to Ireland in recent weeks.
Detective Sergeant Melanie McGrory said in a statement that “a man wanted for questioning by Lancashire Police was located in Antrim this afternoon, Saturday 02 May. He is currently in custody and arrangements are being made to have him conveyed back to England.”
Police in Lancashire want to question 18-year-old Ryan Humpage in connection with rape, theft and assault allegations.
On Wednesday, gardaí put out an appeal for information about the teenager, after they established he had visited counties Kildare and Sligo in the last few weeks.
He was believed to be using various names - including Dylan Dunne, Ryan Willington, Ryan Williams and Karl Ward.
