A new survey from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has found horse DNA in some beef burger products.

A total of 27 were analysed with 10 testing positive for horse DNA.

These were on sale in Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Lidl, Aldi and Iceland.

Traces of horse DNA were also found in batches of raw ingredients including some imported from The Netherlands and Spain.

An additional 31 beef meal products - such as cottage pie and lasagne - were analysed and 21 of these were positive for pig DNA.

While all 19 of salami featured products tested negative for horse DNA.
