Students at Queen's University in Belfast have designed and built a 100-foot bridge using a classic childhood toy.
They are trying to set the world record for the largest structure made from Meccano.
They will test whether it's possible to walk across it at Clarendon Dock in the city this afternoon.
The group have been keeping records of the build on their Facebook page, culminating in today's event.
A Guinness World Record representative will be in attendance, with Meccano giveways and other activities also taking place throughout the day.
Dr Daniel McPolin came up with the idea - he says he wanted to set his pupils a challenge:
