Youth website SpunOut.ie is urging students to get regularly tested for STIs.

The group is launching the campaign to mark its sexual health awareness week which runs until Friday.

The campaign aims to normalise regular STI testing, and to encourage students to go for a full sexual health screening before Christmas.

As part of the campaign, outreach events will also take place at colleges across the country.

Events will take place today at Trinity College, Dublin, tomorrow at IT Carlow, Thursday will see an event at DCU and Friday will take in UCC.

John Buckley, from SpunOut.ie, says the initiative is also about removing stigma.

The website has also put together a video, to put people's minds at ease about testing.
