Stardust campaigners say they are 'very disappointed' with their meeting with the Justice Minister - but insisted they will never stop fighting for answers.

48 people died in the Stardust nightclub blaze in North Dublin on Valentine's Day in 1981.

The families of the victims want politicians to reject the recent McCartan report, which found no new inquiry into the fatal fire is warranted.

Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan has told the families that the Government accepts the conclusions.

Campaigners, meanwhile, want TDs "to cast their vote to reject [the] report and seek a full commission of investigation".

Antoinette Keegan, whose two sisters died in the blaze, met Charlie Flanagan this afternoon.

She observed: "He said he's not committing himself to anything. I've to go to Stardust Victims Committee and the relatives and tell them that he's not committing himself to anything."

However, she stressed that the fight is "not over":

Fire consultant Robin Knox also expressed his disappointment, arguing: "The minister today, in my view, wants to draw a line under everything.

"He is not going to succeed, because the line will never be drawn under this."
