Star Wars is returning to Skellig Michael.

Arts Minister Heather Humphreys says the Lucas Film production team can return to the UNESCO World Heritage site, in what she sees as a significant boost for Ireland as an international film location.

In order to address concerns about the use of the location, an ecologist and specialist staff from the Department’s National Parks and Wildlife Service and the National Monuments Service will be present for filming and will have the authority to stop or modify it at any point, should any problems arise.
