A Mother in Pennsylvania has taught her son a valuable lesson using what is perhaps a parent's most valuable weapon - embarrassment.

Ann Pinto McCarney has made a show of her college-going son Liam in front of nearly 300,000 people.

She took to Facebook on Wednesday to beg her son to call home.

He had forgotten all about her, it seems, in the weeks since he left home for college.

She decided to remind him exactly who she was, in an attempt to prompt a telephone call home.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Well guess it's safe to say that Liam McCarney is well adjusted at college! That being said a Mammas gotta call him out!

Here's son Liam with the girlfriend his Mother says he manages to text "every single day".

Liam has since phoned home to tell his Mother he is alive. Photo: Liam McCarney on Facebook

Since she posted the video, Ann says she has been innundated with calls from the media. She is planning to carry out a live Skype call with son Liam on Good Morning America today... if she can figure out how to work Skype (her own words).
