The Irish Cancer Society says the number of people applying to its financial aid scheme has increased by over a third in the past three years.
It says many hospitals are now charging €75 for each round of chemotherapy - putting further pressure on patients.
The charity says it's worried that some people with cancer may stop getting treatment because of the financial burden.
