Gardai in Dublin are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains.

The discovery was made by a member of the public while out walking at approximately 7.30 yesterday evening at Kilakee Mountain in Rathfarnham.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination. The Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Curtis is expected to attend the scene later today and the services of a forensic anthropologist have also been requested.

Gardai say no further information is available pending the completion of a post-mortem examination.
