Gardaí are investigating after a shot was fired at a house in Wexford town overnight.
No-one was injured during the incident, which happened on George's St.
Two people in the house were lucky to escape injury after a shotgun was discharged at the house.
The shot was fired in a downstairs room where the two people were sitting at around 1 O'clock this morning.
Minor damage was caused to the house, and a window was broken.
The person who discharged the firearm escaped from the area.
Gardaí haven't yet recovered the weapon.
A number of hours later a car was found burned out, close to the Cleariestown area. Gardaí haven't established it the two incidents are linked.
Both scenes have been sealed off and a technical examination will be carried out later this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
