Irish education technology firm to create 40 new jobs

Forty new jobs are to be created at an Irish education technology company.

This will see Shaw Academy create 100 new jobs overall, with 60 of these already filled.

The additional 40 to be filled by this summer.

They are being created with support from the Department of Jobs through Enterprise Ireland.

The Dublin-based firm which provides live online learning globally, teaching over 55,000 new students per month in seven different languages.

It also has a number of offices around the world.

The academy says it is planning to further expand its workforce at its Dublin office and abroad over the next two years.

It says it has experienced 300% growth each year since being set up four years ago, with just under 200 staff globally.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton says: "It is evident here today that Irish companies are at the forefront of breaking new ground".

"Shaw Academy have identified that education like so many other products and services needs to be instant, easily consumable and relevant. The strides that Shaw Academy have made in such a short time with support from Enterprise Ireland has led to this substantial job creation here today", he adds.
