Senators are being urged to oppose the Social Welfare Bill this week when it comes before the house.
The call came from Jack and Jill foundation CEO Jonathan Irwin.
He insists this Social Welfare Bill equates to a Bill of Torture for carers.
The legislation - which gives effect to cuts to the carers' respite grant and child benefit - passed through all stages of the Dáil last week.
However, if the Seanad reject it - the bill will be delayed for over 90 days - meaning it could be June - instead of Janaury - when these cuts would come into effect.
Jonathan Irwin says it is time for the Seanad to show it can have an impact.
