The Coast Guard was alerted yesterday afternoon, and launched a search operation along with the Lough Swilly RNLI lifeboat.

According to the RNLI, the search is taking place around 17 miles north of Fanad.

The Coast Guard's Rescue 118 helicopter was involved in the operation yesterday, while local vessels have also been helping in the search.
