Today

Breezy and mostly cloudy in southern counties this morning with patchy rain or drizzle affecting south Munster and parts of south of Leinster.

It will be mainly dry elsewhere with any frost clearing during the morning and with bright or sunny spells developing.

Maximum temperatures 5 to 8 degrees generally, but 9 to 11 degrees in southern coastal counties.

Moderate to fresh easterly winds, decreasing light to moderate by nightfall.

Tonight

Cold and mainly dry overnight with long clear spells and just a slight risk of passing showers on northern and eastern coasts.

Lowest temperatures zero to -2 degrees in light northeast winds.

Frost will form in many places with icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
