The Revenue Commissioners say people who miss tomorrow's deadline for registering for the Property Tax might not be penalised.
Householders have until 8 o'clock tomorrow evening to tell Revenue if they want to change the way they're paying.
The only people who don't have to register are those who already pay the tax by salary deduction, or direct debit.
However, Revenue's Vivienne Dempsey says anyone who makes initial contact before tomorrow's deadline shouldn't be penalised.
Dempsey says a telephone helpline will be open late today and tomorrow to help people register:
“We are very busy on our phones. We took over 25,000 calls yesterday. Our phone lines are open from eight o’clock in the morning until eight o’clock at night, and again from eight o’clock in the morning until eight o’clock tomorrow night.”
