Postmortems have been carried out on the bodies of two young brothers who were reported missing from Carlow.

Eoghan and Ruairi Chada, aged 10 and 5, were found dead in a car that had crashed near Westport in Co Mayo yesterday.

Gardai say the results will not be made public for operational reasons.

The brothers were last seen leaving their home in Ballinkillen near Bagnaelstown in Co Carlow on Sunday evening with their father.

Officers are also waiting to question Sanjeev Chada - he's being treated in hospital for minor injuries.
