Thousands of people whose homes were destroyed by flooding in the winter storms, are expected to attend a national flooding rally in Athlone today.
Organisers of the National Stop the Flooding Rally have called on communities across the country to attend the march, calling on the incoming government to make flooding a national emergency.
Bridget Kinsella, whose home in Clare was badly damaged in the floods, is travelling to the march.
She says she hasn't seen a politician around her area since the floodwaters receded only a few weeks ago.
Geraldine Quinlivan's home was flooded in Springfield, Clonlara, Co Clare.
