HIQA has published two more damning reports into disability services at the St Patrick’s Centre in Kilkenny.
The report found that there was a number of failures in the care of children and adults at the centre and a number of failure sin the maintenance and cleanliness of the centre – ranging from peeling paint to a washing machine that was out of order for three weeks.
In particular there was a major concern over fire safety, with the report finding that fire safety management wasn’t in place and a lack of fire protection in several areas.
You can listen to the full report from Newstalk Lunchtime’s Nadine Maloney and then Paddy Connolly from Inclusion Ireland.
