id="yui_3_2_0_1_1345726969930352">Words used on reality shows such as The Only Way is Essex and in social media are getting their official place in the English language.

The new slang words is among nearly 2,000 new entries to make it into the latest edition of the Oxford Dictionary.

Vajazzle, tweeps and lolz have all entered the Oxford Dictionary online, along with hackathon, hosepipe ban and micro pig.

While slang words seem to be making the most headlines, a lot of scientific terminology are being added to the OED too.

The newcomers from the science world include; auto-suggestion (the hypnotic or subconscious adoption of an idea which one has originated oneself), cryonaut (a person who is cryogenically preserved with a view to being revived in the distant future), green fuel (fuel that is less harmful to the environment than conventional fuels); and environmentally unfriendly (opposite of environmentally friendly).
