The Commercial Court has been told a legal action by the Quinn family against the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation could last as long as 9 months.
Sean Quinn’s wife Patricia and their 5 adult children are challenging Anglo debts of €2.3 billion claiming the loans are tainted with illegality.
It seems this could be the longest civil trial ever.
Today Mr. Justice Peter Kelly set April 9th next as start date for this epic case in which the Quinns are challenging what they claim were illegal loans by the former Anglo Irish Bank.
As if it illustrate its complexity barrister Barry O’Donnell for the now-titled IBRC said the bank will be generating up to 60,000 documents.
The Quinns are still without legal representation but the husband of Ciara Quinn former solicitor Niall McPartland told the High Court that that is likely to be resolved in the next 2 weeks.
He also said the family intends to give evidence and call 2 expert witnesses at the hearing.
