The prosecution has finished calling evidence in the trial of 2 men accused of killing teenager Daniel McAnaspie.

27-year-old Richard Dekker and 25-year-old Trevor Noone both from Whitestown Avenue in Blanchardstown deny murdering the 17-year-old who was in State care at the time of his death at Tolka Valley Park on February 26th 2010.

Today the jury was shown garda interviews in which Mr. Noone claimed his co-accused Mr. Dekker had told him that he was going to stab Mr. McAnaspie.

He said his friend had stabbed people for no reason before and that he went along with him on this occasion because Richard Dekker used to bully him as a kid and had a hold over him.

He said as they walked to Tolka Valley Park that night Richard Dekker had shown Daniel McAnaspie one half of a garden shears which he had in his suit jacket and had told the teenager they were going to fight Corduff lads.

Trevor Noone said that while he had seen Richard Dekker stab people before this was different, he told detectives that he knew Daniel was going to die and ran away.

The prosecution has now finished calling evidence – the trial resumes tomorrow.
