More than 25,000 homes and businesses were briefly left without power in north Dublin this morning.

The power outage was a result of a fault in Clonshaugh.

It began at 7.30am, and repair crews had restored power by 9am.

It's the second major outage in Dublin in a week, after 4,500 customers were left without power on Monday.

ESB Networks apologised for the loss of supply.

The outage caused 'significant' delays to some Dublin train services.

Services were initially suspended, but they resumed before 8am.

However, Irish Rail reported delays to northside DART and northern Commuter services during the morning rush hour.
