A post mortem examination will take place today on the body of a man who died following a collision involving a motorbike and a car in Co. Meath yesterday.

The motorcyclist, a man in his early 50s, was killed following the incident on the Millbrook Road in Oldcastle shortly after 5 O'clock.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

The female driver of the car was uninjured.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the incident.
