The World Health Organisation (WHO) has released a report showing evidence that suggest processed and red meat - including bacon, sausages and ham - can cause cancer.

The report says there is a clear link between eating too much processed meat and bowel cancer, and that red meat is the likely cause of certain cancers – and cooking in the pan, grill or on the barbecue is more likely to produce the highest amounts of carcinogenic chemicals.

So with such a dire warning are we likely to see people turning their back on their fry and ham sandwich?

The news has, as you might expect, elicited a strong response around the globe. In Ireland the HSE has said they are to review the research, while the Irish Farmer's Association are urging caution in consumer reaction to the report.

So this morning we’re asking if the study will cause you to lower your consumption of processed meat, or even cut it our entirely?
