People Before Profit says the Government could raise an extra €3.5bn by clamping down on corporate tax avoidance.
It has included the measure as part of its pre-Budget submission published this afternoon.
The party's pre-Budget submission also includes plans to abolish water charges, which it says would cost around €270 million - but it would retain the funding for the water conservation grant.
The group says it has not sent its proposals to be costed by the Department of Finance, because it refuses to cost its proposals for a wealth tax.
However Richard Boyd Barrett TD says it is easy to figure out how much companies should be paying:
Deputy Boyd Barrett also says the Department's refusal to put a cost on some budget measures is "rubbish":
Some of the other key objectives laid out in the party's pre-Budget submission include:
- abolishing property tax; water charges; and USC for those earning less than €70,000
- extended health funding
- reversing cuts to social welfare
- restoring jobs and public services
- reducing costs of education and developing childcare facilities
- emergency programme of social housing, and investment in rent support and homelessness
The submission also includes a proposed 'radical' increase in arts spending.
Other proposals suggested by PBP to offset cost of their objectives include increasing the tax on top earners, a new band of employers PRSI, and a cap on pension breaks for top earners.
People Before Profit's submission follows the plans outlined by the Social Democrats earlier today.
