Those working with GoSafe as speed camera operators have voted to accept a pay agreement.

Staff have held a number of stoppages in recent months, as part of a dispute centered around union recognition and working conditions.

Staff have previously claimed they are confined to their vans for up to 11 hours at a time without proper toilet facilities.

Following talks last week, both sides failed to reach an agreement at the Workplace Relations Commission.

However in a statement on Friday, the company said management and staff representatives reached a pay deal.

"GoSafe monitoring operators have by a clear majority voted to accept the revised pay agreement", it said.

The new agreement will cover a three-year period, from January 1st 2020 to the end of 2022.

It includes improvements in base rate pay, Sunday premium and bank holiday premium rates.

There are also changes to employer PRSA contributions, bonus scheme and an additional day's leave after five years of service.
